Brown Bag Distribution
As an Essential Service Agency, Solomon House realized the importance of keeping it's doors opened during this COVID-19 epidemic. For this reason we instituted a No Contact, Drive Thru model for the Brown Bag Food Distribution Program.
This model has allowed us to continue providing both perishable and non-perishable food items to our families while adhering to precautions set by the CDC.
Groceries are distributed each Tuesday morning between the hours of 9am and 11am. Groceries are distributed on a "First Come, First Serve" basis.
Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles, wear masks or face coverings, have trunks opened and clear to receive groceries, and to not block driveways.
Groceries are also delivered to School Days Apartments to our senior clients who have mobility challlenges.
Groceries are loaded to bring to clients at School Days Apartments.
The line of families to be served from Hacker to Center Streets as volunteers load vehicles with groceries.
Volunteers are always needed. Please contact Ellen Nora at
(337) 364-7798 if you would like to be a part of the program.
